INTRODUCTION
Due to the request of many people, I've made a program that gives the user
their accumalated statistics since their first logon. STATISTICIAN became a
popular program, but a lot of SYSOPS wanted a different style statistics
program that could be used as a auto logon door, although it can be used in
anyway you'd like. I'm sure you'll find the format of this program very
appealing.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
* Floppy drive or Hard Drive
* CGA, Mono, EGA, or VGA card. Program will default to your
computer.
* IBM Compatible or Clone Computer.
* SearchLight 2.0 or greater.
OPERATION and SETUP
1. Login AutoDoor Command ..... <Program Name>
Directory Path ............ <Nodes Home Directory>
Communications Support .... Standard
Abort Method .............. Terminate
Write Protection .......... No
Program Name - You may place HOWDY!'s executable file in any directory.
However, the program name must consist of the full drive
and path. For example, lets say you place HOWDY!.EXE
on drive C: in a directory called 'AUTODOOR', which is a
subdirectory of 'BBS'. Here's what you would define as the
program name:
C:\BBS\AUTODOOR\HOWDY!.EXE
Nodes Home Directory - Place a '.' (period) here. This tells HOWDY! to grab
the needed data from that nodes home directory. The
home directory for a particular node is where the
CONFIG.BBS file is located for that node.
Setup for Live Door:
2;0;1;<access level>;.;<drive:\path\HOWDY!.EXE>
If you are running multiple doors (i.e., via batch file), be sure to place
the drive and path before HOWDY!'s executable filename. If you're executing
your batch file from a directory other than that nodes home directory, than
be sure to jump to that nodes home directory before executing HOWDY!. For
example, lets say you're running your batch file from a directory called
'BATCH' and node 1's home directory is 'C:\BBS'. Here's what you would need
to put in order to jump to node 1's home directory and execute HOWDY!:
c:
cd\bbs
c:\bbs\autodoor\howdy!.exe
Notice above, we're assuming HOWDY!.EXE was located in 'C:\BBS\AUTODOOR'.
Make sure you have the KEY file (i.e., HOWDY.REG) in the same directory
as HOWDY!xx.EXE.
SHAREWARE
HOWDY! is shareware. If you like it and use it, please
